Liam says the darndest things #1

This afternoon, I heard loud noises on the other side of our room, like things dropping on the floor.
Mama: Liam! What are you doing?
You: I'm making a mess!
(props to you for honesty!)

Earlier tonight, this was how you addressed Dada:
"Hey, father, sup?"

Mama absolutely loves how you ask for Milo. You enunciate every syllable like it's the most important word in the world:
"Mama, may I have more MIIIIII-NOLE! MIIIIII-NO!"

Lastly, you call one of my favorite movies (and your movie of the week) by a very funny name:
"Mama, I wanna see so many girls."
That's The Parent Trap for you.

All in a mom's day's work. And I love it.

P.S. started learning how to take photos with Dada's fancy camera, a very old Nikon D80. Soon I will pepper this blog with nice photos :)

Oops...

...so we haven't exactly been the best blogging parents. This just in: Mama and Dada are a bit on the lazy side. Then again, it could be the giant leap in your energy since the last post we made. Goodness, you are now are little tornado zipping about, day in and (especially) day out. Yes, you seem to peak right before bedtime, when you, Mama and Dada are in the same room. I'm not kidding when I say you literally overflow with energy. You jump off stacked storage boxes onto the cushion on the floor...and today you attempted to leap over the (tiny, but not to a TODDLER) abyss between the blue sofa in our room to the bed. It scares us a bit but we gotta admit, it makes us feel smug and proud that our little boy is already thirsty for adventure this early. Some nights our aching and aging bodies beg for mercy from the "three two one-ing" and "rolling" you love to do with us, but then we remember that this age doesn't last forever. So roll off the bed we go.

Tonight you whispered a little "I wuv you" to Mama...without me saying it first. My aging heart melted. I hope you know we wuv you too. Forever. We mean it.

To our dear little Liam

May 27, 2011

Mama and Dada are starting this blog today, while you are two years, two months, twenty-four days (and approximately 9 hours) old. We can only wish we had done this sooner.

We can imagine how many pages of letters we could have filled with stories, prayers, hopes and dreams in those last two years, because there are not enough words to describe the experience of being your parents! It has been an awesome adventure since day 1, little boy, and it is still quite a mystery how someone so tiny can bring tsunamis of (wonderful) change into our former 2D lives (we'll explain what we mean as we go along). We simply DO NOT want to forget anything.

You will, one day, get to read all this. We're guessing that will be in a year or two from now because you started reading words at 15 months (thanks to Dr. Rob Titzer, who you call Wowo, because every bald man over 40 seems to be Wowo to you). See, Yum, you have been a whirlwind so far, and we know it would be harder and harder to keep track of every funny, silly, awe-inspiring thing you do. Add to that the little reminders and moments of gratitude we want to share with you everyday, and you'll understand the need for this "project." Before you were here, we had pretty exciting lives, but we were never so exciting that we needed a blog to document our days. Now that we have you running our little household, things took a turn for the PHENOMENAL. Everyday has been quite a phenomenon, Bub. You'll see why.

We love you,

Mama and Dada
